Our Hire a Teacher! Homeschool Support Program is meant to provide a viable and cost-effective option for parents looking for schooling alternatives for their children. Essentially, parents come together within their community neighbourhoods to establish groups (or Learning Bubbles) of no more than five (5) students. Ideally, students will all be at the same grade level, or at most, span two adjacent grade levels per group (i.e. 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, etc).

In choosing to homeschool their child(ren), parents will typically need to declare their intent to homeschool with their local school board. Don't worry if you're not familiar with the process! We're here to help guide you every step of the way!

This small-group instruction is coordinated by a certified educator, and programmed in partnership with the parents. Instruction can take place in a designated family home, or at site mutually agreeable to the group and teacher.

Depending on your child's grade level, you can choose to hire an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) or a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE).

We take the safety of our students, our team, and our families very seriously. As such, you can expect our educators to follow current COVID-19-related healthy and safety precautions, including daily health screening, the use PPE during sessions, and undertaking regular hand washing.

You can also expect our educators to make use of outdoor learning opportunities, weather-permitting.

Our Hire a Teacher! program is focussed on providing homeschool support to students in Kindergarten to Grade 8. Should your child be in high school, please connect with us to discuss your homeschooling options and the support we can provide.

Parents with children in JK or SK can choose to hire a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT).

Parents with children in grades 1 through 8 can hire an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT).

Yes, we do!

Our educators follow best practices in teaching and learning, therefore all programming, instruction, learning tasks, assessment, and reporting follows the Ontario curriculum and aligns with Ministry of Education guidelines.

With that said, our goal is to provide a meaningful, engaging, and interactive learning experience for your child. As such, you can expect hands-on learning experiences, outings in the community (once rapport is established), and a creative, interactive approach to teaching and learning!

Our Hire a Teacher! program can actually be facilitated online or in-person, or a combination of both. Really, it's up to you!

Online sessions are hosted over Zoom (or similar), and students and teachers will have access to Google Classroom.

Parent groups registering their children for our Hire a Teacher! program can choose from the following options?

• Full time -- 5 hours of instruction per day
• Part-time -- 3 hours of instruction per day
• Full year from September to June
• Per term -- September to January OR February to June

Your child's success is important to us! That's why our educators partner with you on your child's learning journey through ongoing communication and collaboration. Parents can expect to be in regular contact with their child's teacher throughout the week, in person and online.

Additionally, our Hire a Teacher! program includes three reporting periods (November, February, and June). These reports on progress will provide feedback on your child's progress with their learning, areas for improvement, and next steps.

Teachers and students will have access to Google Classroom, as well as other online programming including, but not limited to Raz-Kids, Prodigy, Knowledgehook, etc.

Parents must ensure their child has access to a stable internet connection and a computer with a webcam.

The cost of our Hire a Teacher! program depends on the following:

• Whether you wish to hire a Registered Early Childhood Educator (Kindergarten only) or an Ontario Certified Teacher (Kindergarten to Grade 8);
• The number of students in your Learning Bubble (5 max);
• If you want to register your child full-time (5 hours/day) or part-time (3 hours/day);
• If you want to register for the full year (Sep to Jun), or by term (Sep-Jan or Feb-Jun).

For example, parents wishing to partner together to hire a certified teacher full-time, for the entire school year, for their group of five children can expect to pay $14,740 each.
